Data Spaces Software Engineer (80 to 100%)
Description
Our vision is to provide the data infrastructure that enables Europe to achieve a sustainable, climate neutral industry and society. For this, we help building the European Green Data space.
We already support more than 1.200 organisations in implementing the INSPIRE standards, a set of specifications for the delivery of spatial, environmental and statistical data. We continously innovate and collaborate with a wide network of partners from industry and academia.
In this role, you will work with the Product Development and Operations team and be responsible for implementing the software infrastructure for data spaces, based on IDSA Open Source components. This infrastructure is the foundation for projects such as FutureForest (ai-based decision support for climate adaptation of forests) and SoilWise (using shared data to improve soil conservation).

Responsibilities
- Develop and extend data spaces components, such as ETL tools, vocabulary providers, smart services and others
- Integrate these components within the hale connect platform for different deployments (public cloud, private cloud, on premise)
- Contribute to backend development for the hale connect platform
Your Profile
- Dipl. Inf., M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field
- 2 or more years of relevant industry or research experience
- Very good knowledge of Java
- Good knowledge of web services technology (REST services, Caching, HTML, JavaScript/AJAX)
- Good knowledge of cloud platforms and technology (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker)
- Proactive, motivated and reliable personality
- Analytic and creative
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent (C1+) in German or English
Bonus Qualifications
- Good knowledge of Git /Github and CI processes
- Good knowledge of Groovy and Vert.x
- Good knowledge of database technology
- Geospatial/GIS or ETL/Integration domain knowledge
