We are currently in search of a dynamic Senior Software Engineering Manager (m/f/x/d) to lead our Research team in the vibrant city of Valencia, Spain.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Collaborate with the code and production teams to achieve a world-class quality product.
• Lead and coordinate the technical team, development process and resources planning.
• Ensure the constant progress on the product roadmap, meeting deadlines and delivering on time.
• Deliver scalable and maintainable solution using the latest technology, responsible for the DevOps setup and management.
• Identify and evaluate strategic innovations (concepts, tools/languages, technologies, services), mainly in the artificial intelligence/machine learning/data science fields.
• Support the product team as well as the commercial activities of the company with technical issues; best technology implementation and advise.
• Tackle bugs and understand the best way to approach and solve them
• Constant personal and professional development in new technologies, yours and of your team.
• Play active role in hiring process
• Set the yearly goals and do the performance reviews
• Actively communicate with the team members to early detect problems and how to improve workflows

Education, required experience and skills: 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, telecommunication technologies, or similar.
• Experience required:
  • +5 years as a developer.
  • +2 years as a technical team manager and coordinator.
  • +2 years of managing development teams (in person and remotely).
• Experience in Python, Java and Javascript(ReactJS) coding language, one relational DBMS (MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres), code sharing and versioning technology (e.g. Mercurial, Git), cloud computing environment (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCloud),
• Good knowledge of concepts of TDD and Software Design Patterns (e.g. SOLID).
• Experience in working in a team with an agile software development process.
• Languages: Fluent in English with Spanish/German as optional but good to have.
• Critical thinker, good interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Team player with ability to work individually.
• Digital and user-centric mindset and attention to detail and quality.

Preferred skills and experience:

• Knowledge in ALM-Tools as well as Team Foundation Server (TFS)
• Knowledge in Continuous-Delivery-systems
• Knowledge in NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Elastic etc.
